Troop Motto

Introduction to 998

We are a small but strong Boy Scout Troop in Clermont, Fl.
Our Scoutmaster is an Eagle Scout and Wounded Iraqi War Veteran.  He has
3 Assistant Scoutmasters 1 of which is an Eagle Scout also
We have 13 active scouts and
Currently have 5 Eagle Scouts 3 of which are still active in the troop as
youth mentor leadership
We also have 2 Life scouts working on their Eagle rank
We have a very dedicated committee who are always visible
and available to the scouts and leaders.

Our meetings are held every Monday 7PM
at Family Christian Center

2019 24th World Scout Jamboree

For the first time in 50 years the World Scout Jamboree is being held in the US at the  beautiful Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia July 22 - August 2, 2019 . Local contingent consist of 36 scouts and 4 adult leaders. Cost for attend Jamboree is $2400 for 10 days and is all inclusive. This is the experience of a lifetime for most scouts. Age requirement is 14-17 years of age (age at the time of Jamboree)  Unlock a new world and experience scouting as you never have before as you spend 2 weeks with 70,000 scout from all over the world.

We currently have 1 member from our troop representing Clermont and 998 on the local contingent. Elijah Kelly is a 14 year old Eagle Scout and is working earning his way to WoJam through various fundraisers and odd jobs.

Summer Camp 2018

This summer our boys will be attending Camp Woodruff in the mountains of North Georgia. The week they are attending is July 15th -21st. During their week at Woodruff they will be enjoying free time White Water Rafting, Mountain Biking, Mountain Boarding, Horse Back Riding and so much more.

Past and Future Events

We enjoy monthly camp outs as well as great weeks of summer camp. Some examples of past expeditions we've been on is cave exploring, rafting and tubing, canoeing and swimming with manatees, surfing, hiking, cycling, climbing and zip lining just to name a few. This summer we will be attending summer camp at our local council's camp La-No-Che in Paisley, Fl which is one of the most popular summer camp destinations on the entire Eastern United States. We offer many fundraising opportunities for the boys to raise the needed funds to cover their scouting and camping experiences. We hope to have you join us soon.
